**About Us**

disAbility Living Inc. (DLi) was established in 1984 to provide long term accommodation and support for young adults. We have provided supported accommodation for people with disabilities in South Australia for more than 25 years. In 2010, the organisation began providing respite and transitional accommodation support and in 2013, began providing support to children.

We believe in the inherent right of people with disabilities to have choice and control over their lives and support their right to be active citizens enabling them to participate fully in the community.

Our dedicated team comprises of highly competent and specifically trained support workers, each uniquely chosen and trained to cater to the individual needs of our participants.

**Your Experience**

You will bring a person-centred approach, placing the person at the centre of their service. You will work collaboratively, tailoring your approach to the needs of the individual. You will quickly establish rapport with clients and their families and have clear and effective communication skills. You will have excellent attention to detail and accuracy in case notes and record-keeping. You will be comfortable supporting adult clients with intellectual/physical disabilities, high medical needs, mental health diagnosed or high behavioural concerns.

**Special requirements**

The Client is 16 years old and on the Autism Spectrum. He is headstrong, and looking for female Support Workers who are persistent, reliable and patient to support him to become comfortable with NDIS supports. He is looking for a combination of community participation support, and independent skill building, particularly surrounding cooking and making healthy food choices.

There will also be opportunities to support other Clients within the Lifestyle & Community Participation Programs.

**Your Availability**

Current shifts available for our Client are as follows:

- Monday & Tuesday 11.00am - 2.00pm

There will also be opportunities to support other Clients within the Lifestyle & Community Participation Programs, depending on availability and suitability to care requirements.

**Recruitment Process**
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a phone interview and then, if successful, to a face to face interview.

**Role Requirements**
- A minimum Certificate III in Disability or equivalent
- Current NDIS Worker Screening
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Safe Environments for Children & Young People "Through their eyes"
- CPI (Crisis Prevention & Intervention training)
- First Aid and CPR
- Manual Handling certificate
- Evidence of right to work in Australia
- Medication Administration Certificate, Basic Continence Care and Infection Control/ Basic Health Support Certificate will be highly preferred and if not, willingness to obtain these will be required.
- A full Australian Driver's Licence
- Ability and willingness to drive and use pool vehicle or own vehicle
