Why join the business Our client is a statutory body based in the Lockyer Valley, Queensland.
They have seen significant developments with land use, technology and infrastructure, which has resulted in the need for increased and effective strategic planning.
About the role Reporting through to the Manager of Planning, Policy and Community Wellbeing, you will guide the region's development and economic success.
You will oversee land use planning, economic development and environmental plans, lead a team and ensure the region develops in an organised and sustainable way.
Your responsibilities will include: Providing leadership of a team that covers strategic land use planning, economic development, environmental matters, flood modelling and strategic engineering; Developing land use plans and initiatives; Overseeing project delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget; Advising on improvements to departmental operations; Keeping up to date on planning assessment processes and ensuring procedures reflect economic, legal and policy considerations; and Providing expert and timely advice to internal and external groups.
About you To be successful in this role, you will need at least 5 years of experience in strategic planning.
You will also require excellent communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
The role requires a high level of political awareness to understand and support the organisation's vision while ensuring alignment with legislative frameworks.
Proven technical expertise in delivering planning schemes, amendments and planning projects is essential, as are solid leadership capabilities to manage and guide the team.
