The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Human Research Ethics Committee Chair to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide leadership to the Gold Coast Health Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) on matters concerning research ethics and research review within HREC meetings
- Ensure that the HREC functions in accordance with the requirements as set out in the National Statement (2007) - Updated 2018 and in accordance with, The Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (2018), and other state, national and international policies, procedures and guidelines
- Chair the monthly HREC meetings in an efficient, expeditious and fair manner
- Identify and facilitate the reporting of conflicts of interest and ensure these are managed effectively
- Maintain close liaison with staff supporting the HREC functions to promote the effective management of the HREC

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- Whilst not mandatory, clinical experience and/or professional registration or membership with an appropriate authority will be well regarded
- Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be desirable
- Evidence of vaccination and remain vaccinated against - COVID 19
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary part time (12 months with possibly of extension, 15.2 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $74.56 - $77.67 per hour
