**About the Centre/Service**

Tecoma Preschool is looking for a capable Early Childhood Teacher to team-teach in our 4 year old funded kinder program for the 2025 kinder year. Tecoma Preschool is a Community Kindergarten running sessional kinder programs for 3 year old and 4 year old children. We deliver a 15- hour 4 year old program in a cosy converted house with a landscaped playground in the Dandenong Ranges. We are focused on giving children the best transition to primary school through both play-based and structured learning activities. We develop our curriculum to gradually increase the capabilities of the children to adapt to the primary school environment both academically and socially. Our beautiful elm tree in the back garden typifies the occurrences seen at our kindergarten - continual change, growth, excitement and development. Tecoma Preschool acknowledges the Wurundjeri as the traditional owners of the land on which we work, learn and play. The Committee of Management is a supportive parent volunteer committee working alongside the educational staff and paid administration support. Tecoma Preschool achieved an Exceeding standard in 2022 in all 7 areas and prides itself on working as a collaborative team to provide a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for all.

Rostered Times: Monday: 7:30-2pm Tuesday: 8-2pm Friday: 1:30 - 3 pm for shared set-up and curriculum discussion Session Times: Monday: 8:30-1:30pm Tuesday: 8:30-1:30pm 10 hours contact, 5 hours non-contact/planning = 15 hours per week

**Description**

Tecoma Preschool has the opportunity for an engaging teacher with great initiative to teach in our 4 year old funded sessional kinder program in 2025 (commencing in Jan 2025). The Teacher role is responsible for co-leading, co-planning and co-implementing the 4 year old program in line with VEYDLF and EYLF best principles. This includes working cooperatively and professionally as a member of the educational team and especially alongside the other 4 year old ECT (alternate days).

**Responsibilities**:

- Show a clear understanding of the Education and Care Service National Law Act and undertake all responsibilities and activities associated with being a Nominated Supervisor, and act within the requirements of that position, the National Laws & Regulations.
- Provide a high quality, developmentally appropriate educational program (based on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework)
- Have a capacity to contribute to and be committed to a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) - in particular NQS Area 1
- Always operate in a professional manner and ensure that the preschool meets the requirements of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) Victorian kindergarten policy, procedures and funding criteria; Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and functions in line with approved policies, procedures and the Quality Improvement Plan of Tecoma Preschool.

**Duties**:

- Operate within the requirements of the preschool's policies and procedures, as well as funding and regulatory requirements and the budget allocation.
- Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan of the service.
- Co-teach the 4 year old educational team, committed to working together to write observations, plan and implement an engaging curriculum and activities that support all children in the program.
- Encourage enrolments and provide relevant written information and referrals in accordance with the enrolment policy and procedures.
- Other duties as directed by the Educational Leader and Committee of Management from time-to-time.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service through reflective practice.
- Coordinate meetings and processes, involving all educational staff, to design and deliver a high quality and diverse educational program based on appropriate curriculum frameworks and with reference to the NQS.
