Casual Support Worker

Are you a passionate & enthusiastic Support Worker looking for Casual shift work in Inner-West &/or Hurstville across a 24/7 program? This is your opportunity to:

- Enjoy flexible work across a 24/7 program with short day shifts, weekends & sleepover shifts (overnight) available - loading applies
- Build independence & capacity of SIL residents with psychosocial disability, intellectual disability, mental health and/or physical health needs
- Enjoy public holiday loadings over the EOY holiday period, with a variety of shifts available

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Make a difference in this fulfilling Support Worker role by enabling the people we support to develop voice, choice, control & independence. Actively engage the people we support in their daily living, building their capacity & independence, and supporting them with their recovery journey.

Our current Casual opportunities include a variety of shifts across our 24/7 Supported Independent Living residential program, including overnights, weekends and day shifts, in the Inner West &/or Hurstville. Availability over the Holiday period is highly desirable. Remuneration from $38.08 per hour (inclusive of casual loading).
- Responsibilities_
**_:_**
- Building the capacity, routine, social skills & independent living skills of the people we support by assisting them with daily activities (e.g. domestic, health, social, community access)
- Building rapport and managing challenging behaviours by following established plans
- Providing support to attend regular meetings with case managers and health professionals
- Writing accurate case notes and recording them using the online ICLA client management system
- Enabling the social inclusion of ICLA clients in the community
- Maintaining infection control measures and adapting to evolving Covid-19 requirements.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Essential Criteria_
- Enthusiastic about supporting people with psychosocial disabilities, intellectual disability and/or mental health needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A 'can do' attitude, adaptability, and a willingness to learn
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to follow a plan and creative thinking
- Punctuality and reliability
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Right to work in Australia
- A current driver's license and confidence driving in Sydney
- Valid NDIS Check or willingness to obtain.
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Your own smartphone/device to access our apps for managing work information (training will be provided)
- Availability for different shifts across our 24/7 operating hours (e.g. nights, weekends, etc.)
- Covid-19 vaccination certificate (plus booster when eligible)
- Desirable:_
- Experience working in a residential care environment
- Experience supporting people who have psychosocial disabilities
- Relevant qualification or work experience in mental health or disability support
