**Experienced Mental Health Nurse Team Leader required to lead an established Mental Health team at the Immigration Detention Centre at Broadmeadows.**

**The Role**:
An amazing opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse Team Leader to lead an established team to deliver and maintain Mental Health care services at the Immigration Detention Centre in Broadmeadows.

The Mental Health Team Leader will be required to provide medical treatment for people residing in immigration detention facilities.
- Identify and assess at risk persons in detention
- Act as the single point of referral to Mental Health Team
- Provide at risk persons in detention with appropriate and timely management of their mental health needs
- Ensure high standards of mental health practice are met
- Provide correct and complete documentation
- Participate in keeping stake holders informed
- Provide advice and education to the mental health team as necessary or as requested
- Respond to the supervisory requirements of the mental health team
- Provide statistical reports to the Mental Health Services Manager and other parties as required
- Provide clinical reports to appropriate internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in scheduled meetings as required or requested
- Liaise with all parties involved in the medical management of detainees

**You**:
To be considered you must have the following:

- Minimum of 5 years post graduate nursing experience; (Mental health)
- Excellent clinical assessment skills in a Mental health care environment
- Basic Life Support or First Aid Certificate obtained within the last 12 months
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment with patients from culturally and linguistically diverse groups
- Previous experience with electronic medical records and use of MS Office programs
- Experience in a corrections, detention or remote nursing setting would be desirable
- Full AHPRA registration
