**Mental Health Leader Role Overview:**
The Mental Health Leader plays a pivotal role in promoting and maintaining good mental health and wellbeing among students, staff, and families. This involves building capability across the school community, providing support to teachers and staff, and establishing clear pathways for referral for students requiring assessment and intervention.
- Promote a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing by fostering a culture of awareness, understanding, and support.
- Support teachers and staff to embed evidence-based mental health strategies, interventions, and programs, ensuring seamless integration into teaching and learning practices.
- Collaborate with school staff to inform, influence, and provide input into teaching and learning relating to mental health and wellbeing, driving positive change and improvement.
- Work with school leadership and wellbeing teams to embed whole-school approaches to mental health, enhancing the overall school environment.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mental health literacy, emerging needs, and school capacity building. They will also demonstrate high-level interpersonal skills and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, other employees, and the broader school community.
