Finisar Australia designs and manufactures products with leading edge optical technology for communication network equipment and instruments for system designers.

The Planning team manages the end-to-end supply chain plan activities, including S&OP, inventory planning and production planning.

The Materials Planner has overall responsibility for the planning of materials to meet the demand of manufacturing operations; ensuring capacity is not constrained by material shortages due to planning or the execution of processes.

**Here's what you'll do at Finisar**:

- Material planning using Oracle APS and detailed Excel based plans
- Inventory order management
- Maintenance of master data in Oracle ERP
- Assist the planning team with ad hoc activities
- Ensure company procedures are adhered to
- Project support for supply chain project analysis and recommendations
- Provide effective proactive liaison with other departments to forecast, plan and meet supply demand
- Analyse forecast demand and adjust order/demand plans accordingly to optimise operational flexibility and maintain inventory value
- Manage purchasing projects

**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing, systems, planning and/or operations management experience
- Good command of spoken and written English with the ability to deliver clear and succinct communication of commercial and technical issues
- Demonstrated ability in the development and maintenance of project plans
- High capability in usage of Microsoft Excel, Power Point etc. Confident in analysing data, presenting plans/results, reporting issues, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Analytical skills, problem solving, team building, strategic planning and ability to manage change
- Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external teams, senior management and with production teams
- Experience in international supply planning, including working with offshore contract manufacturers
- Degree level education in a technical discipline or relevant experience in fast paced manufacturing industries.

**Desirable Skills and Experience**
- Experience in supply management of Asian suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Knowledgeable of ISO quality systems and audits
- Knowledge of electronics manufacturing techniques, PCBA and electronic components planning and supply
- In depth technical knowledge of fibre optics, electronics or telecommunications
- Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese would be beneficial in this role but not a must
