Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Good Vibes Yoga Full time

Good Vibes Yoga

This is a rare opportunity for an exceptional leader ready to take the reins of one of Australia's most respected wellness studios. If you're someone who thrives in a high-performance environment, has a strong commercial mindset, and loves refining systems, leading teams, and delivering operational excellence - this could be the role for you.
- Take full ownership of operations and the day-to-day running of the business
- Be part of a company that creates positive change in people's lives by providing a space for connection, community, and self-development
- Contribute to delivering exceptional guest experience and build systems that enable us to grow without losing what makes us special

About Us

With a global reputation, Good Vibes Yoga is one of Australia's most highly regarded studios. Excellence, authenticity, creativity, community and sustainability are at our brand's heart. We offer a premium service with over 140 classes weekly across two yoga studios and a Reformer Pilates studio, plus a thoughtfully curated calendar of events and workshops. We are known for our attention to detail and exceptional guest experience, supported by well-defined operational structures that uphold this standard. We're a growing company with a team of around twenty-seven unique individuals.

The Role

This is a high-level, hands-on leadership role that requires both strategic vision and strong execution. As General Manager, you'll take full ownership of operations and the day-to-day running of the business. You'll lead our team, oversee financials, HR, guest retention and business development, driving performance and efficiency across every touchpoint and building systems that enable us to grow without losing what makes us special. The founder remains active in the business, but focused on vision and creative direction. She'll collaborate with you on big-picture decisions and business direction, while supporting your goals, and ensuring you have what you need to keep things running smoothly. While this is primarily a behind-the-scenes role based in our Collingwood office, we would value and encourage a regular in-studio presence to stay connected with our students, teaching team, and operations team.

About You

You're a strong, steady leader with senior experience in operations or general management (ideally 3+ years), capable of making sharp business decisions and keeping a complex business running smoothly. Highly organised and proactive, you stay calm under pressure and handle conflict with ease — always working toward customer-first solutions that align with the best interests of the business. You're emotionally intelligent, clear in your communication, and know how to set firm boundaries — leading your team with both heart and direction, and uniting people around a shared vision.

What we're looking for:
Strategic Thinking & Operational Excellence
- Capable of managing both high-level strategy and day-to-day operations
- Strong systems thinker who can optimise our problem-solving processes
- Ability to take initiative and make confident, commercial focused decisions independently
- Strong attention-to-detail and commitment to excellence
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest service, primarily via written communication, with the ability to resolve issues with care and professionalism

Financial & Commercial Acumen
- Take responsibility for achieving revenue and growth targets across the business
- Data-literate and able to use reporting and KPIs to guide smart decisions
- Comfortable identifying inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
- Experience managing financial risk

Leadership & People Management
- Calm, grounded leadership style that inspires trust and respect
- Ability to set clear expectations and foster a high-performance, collaborative and energising team culture
- Experienced in recruitment, onboarding, conflict resolution and team development
- Enjoys mentoring others and lifting those around them

Strong Communication & Soft Skills
- Clear communicator who can offer feedback and direction constructively
- High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills
- Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to remain level-headed in challenging situations
- Empathetic and diplomatic, but not afraid to have tough conversations

A background in health or wellness is not essential — but a passion for/interest in yoga, Pilates or fitness would be ideal.

Why join us?
- Be part of an organisation that values your health and well-being, where your input will be highly appreciated.
- Be remunerated with a competitive compensation package.
- Meet and connect with a diverse community of conscious individuals.
- Be part of a company that creates positive change in people's lives by providing a space for connection, community, and self-development.
- Incorporate yoga into your life and enjoy complimentary access to our classes for you and a friend.
