**Area overview**

ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, the region and globally. This is achieved through discovery and applied research, including in health service and public health settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy.

The Centre of Epidemiology for Policy and Practice, within the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, focuses on policy
- and practice-relevant research in partnership with beneficiaries and other stakeholders - including community, policy makers and practitioners - to generate evidence to improve health, equity and health care.

**About the Position**
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow or Fellow to join a dynamic team conducting impactful public health and epidemiological research focused on tobacco control, e-cigarettes, and chronic disease. Tobacco smoking remains the leading preventable cause of death globally and in Australia, with significant health inequities among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to national efforts toward reducing smoking prevalence and addressing the emerging public health challenges posed by electronic cigarettes.
