Overview
Our client believes that exceptional events start with exceptional support – and that includes finance. For over 30 years, they have delivered conferences across science, academia, and environmental industries, supported by a finance team that ensures accuracy, compliance, and confidence at every stage. Now, our client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team. This is a broad and varied role, perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants exposure to both company and project-level finance.
About the Role
You'll support the Finance Director across AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, compliance, and reporting, while also assisting with project budgets and financial systems. You'll be a key part of the finance backbone that supports our projects and associations – and will have the chance to step into higher duties when required.
What You'll Be Doing
Process AP/AR and reconcile bank/credit card accounts
Maintain general ledger, journals, and assist with month/year-end
Support payroll, super, PAYG, leave, and commissions
Assist with BAS, FBT, ASIC compliance, and audits
Prepare financial reports and support project budgets
Maintain accurate records and help improve finance systems
What You'll Bring
Degree in Accounting/Finance; CA/CPA (or in progress) preferred
3+ years in a finance/accounting role
Strong skills in reconciliations, compliance, and accounting systems
High accuracy, independence, and attention to detail
