Responsibilities
Serve as the conduit between maternity services and the community within the northern sector of Hunter New England's Local Health District (LHD).
Connect vulnerable women to pregnancy care providers and oversee maternal transfers within the district.
Engage with women who find it difficult to connect with maternity services.
Lead with strong communication and problem-solving skills while showing compassion for vulnerable women and the complexities of pregnancy care.
Collaborate with a small, diverse team of maternity experts to oversee safety and quality of maternity services across the district.
Participate in regular huddle meetings, planning days, and support from the WHAM Network Coordinator and Midwifery Advisor.
Work with Newcastle-based colleagues and other coordinators across the state; participate in Monthly Accountability Meetings (MAMs), 90-day action plans, and rounding activities.
Qualifications
Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
Minimum of three (3) years full-time equivalent post midwifery qualification experience.
