CBCHS is a for-cause, not-for-profit organisation providing a wide range of allied health, dental, child development, disability and aged care services to more than 15,000 clients every year in and around the City of Kingston. **About the Role**

Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS) - Facilities and Maintenance team has an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and motivated Maintenance Officer, due to retirement.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Maintenance Assistant to work collaboratively and enhance our team on Part Time Permanent basis. With flexible hours to suit you between 7.00am and 3.30pm, weekdays with no late nights or weekend work required.

The Maintenance Officer is integral to the facilities function. This position supports the Facilities Manager by ensuring that CBCHS properties are well maintained, well presented and safe. This position operates across 9 sites as directed by the Facilities Manager.

**Responsibilities**
- Maintaining equipment and performing or arranging relevant repairs and maintenance as directed by Facilities Manager
- Opening Parkdale Head Office daily
- Repairing or replacing locks, doors, furniture, light fittings, broken windows, leaking taps, plumbing, patching holes, small paintworks, cooling & heating systems etc., as requested
- Assist with CBCHS improvements such as building renovation and refurbishment, fencing, paving
- Gutters, downpipes, and rainwater tanks cleared and working effectively
- Removal or cleaning of waste, including human waste or excreta, dead animals, or litter
- Assistance with daily and project waste disposal including confidential paper waste etc.
- Complete grounds work as directed by Facilities Manager which may include picking up trash, sweeping curbs and dumpster area
- Maintaining fish and fish pond onsite
- Maintain landscaping of garden beds, lawn mowing and other garden areas

**About you**
- Relevant Tradesperson qualification - previous experience in NFP/health care setting advantageous
- Demonstrate general experience in: grounds maintenance, general building construction or maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a wide range of individuals including clients, volunteers and staff
- Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach that is responsive and innovative
- Current drivers' licence and own vehicle
- Ability to work at heights, or in confined spaces and perform sustained physically demanding work
- Time and work management skills that ensure workload is managed and deadlines met according to agreed priorities.
- Demonstrate ability to maintain courteous and helpful demeanour with clients, staff, co-workers, and contractors at all times.
- Current drivers' licence and own vehicle
- Demonstrate an understanding of workplace health & safety
- Undertake a variety of small-medium jobs
- Be punctual & reliable
- Ability to negotiate desired outcomes

CBCHS is currently in the process of voluntarily amalgamating with two neighbouring community health services, Connect Health & Community and Star Health, to form a new organisation called Better Health Network (BHN).
