**About the opportunity**

Our Social Planning team plays a critical role in shaping the understanding and development of our City. Charged with managing our demographic information, producing the City's Social Profile, and advising on social infrastructure needs and social impact assessments, the team works with specialist staff across Council to drive liveability and well-being.

As the Coordinator Social Planning, you will possess the qualifications, experience and passion to lead and inspire the team. You will possess high-level analytical and negotiation skills and have a proven record of shaping planning decisions. As a senior member of our Community section, you will have the ability to support and enhance the work of the section's community development and facilities teams.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Tertiary qualifications or a demonstrated high level of experience in social planning
- Extensive experience social planning
- Demonstrated team leadership skills
- Exceptional customer service and problem solving skills
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Current C Class Driver's license.

**Desirable**:

- Experience in managing teams.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,934.40 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Leaseback vehicle or car allowance
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 10.5% employer superannuation contribution payable to Active Superannuation Scheme, Fitness Passport and gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
