The teacher will implement innovative, evidence-based teaching methods tailored to individual needs, helping each child develop confidence and a lifelong love of learning.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.Deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction across subjects like literacy, numeracy, science, arts, and physical education.Create a welcoming classroom environment supporting exploration and play.Use creative activities such as storytelling, art, music, and movement to stimulate interests and abilities.Focus on hands-on, play-based activities encouraging exploration and discovery.Utilize educational technologies and interactive tools to enhance learning.Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs, including those requiring additional support.Establish positive behaviour expectations and routines promoting respect and cooperation.Conduct observations and assessments to monitor progress and inform teaching.Collaborate with colleagues and specialists to support student well-being.Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and strategies for development.Lead and participate in extracurricular activities and school events, ensuring safety.Engage in professional development to stay current with early childhood education practices.Support school-wide initiatives and uphold the school's mission and values.Ideal Candidate Skills & ExperienceProven experience working with young children, with a solid understanding of child development principles.Ability to adapt teaching styles using creative methods like music, drama, art, and outdoor learning.Effective communication skills with children, colleagues, and parents.Experience supporting children with diverse needs, including learning differences.Comfort with integrating technology into teaching and administrative tasks.Personal AttributesPassion for early childhood education and inspiring young learners.Patience and understanding of each child's unique development.Creativity and problem-solving skills.Collaborative spirit and contribution to the school community.Proactiveness, receptiveness to feedback, and adaptability.QualificationsA recognised teaching qualification such as a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood or Primary) or equivalent.Accreditation with NESA (New South Wales Education Standards Authority).
