Advanced Software Architect

About the Role
Anduril Industries seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for rapidly developing expertise in new domains and delivering next-generation capabilities through the entire product life-cycle.
Your primary focus will be on software-enabled solutions, ensuring they are optimized for delivery of value to end-users. This will involve empathizing with end-users and driving solutions that balance their needs with external constraints, restrictions, and requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment.
You will design and implement scalable software-enabled systems, leveraging output from multiple external teams and rapidly delivering capability beyond current platforms. Additionally, you will contribute to the design and development of existing software services across Anduril, developing components reusable across multiple product lines.
Your responsibilities will also include developing software running on- and off-robotic platforms using various technologies, creating test and simulation fixtures operating with both software- and hardware-in-the-loop, and supporting system delivery, configuration, training, and sustainment.
Key Responsibilities:
Own software-enabled solutions deployed to customers, optimizing for delivery of value to end-users.
Empathize with end-users and drive solutions balancing their needs with external constraints, restrictions, and requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Design and implement scalable software-enabled systems leveraging output of multiple external teams, rapidly delivering capability beyond current platforms.
Contribute to design and development of existing software services across Anduril, developing components reusable across multiple Anduril product lines.
Develop software running on- and off-robotic platforms using various technologies.
Create test and simulation fixtures operating with both software- and hardware-in-the-loop.
Support system delivery, configuration, training, and sustainment.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Extensive professional experience working as a Software Engineer with one or more domains and/or technologies of expertise.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills.
Systems and/or application programming skills including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software design, and system design.
Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
Capacity to work holistically on software-enabled capabilities up and down the software stack and through lifecycle through design, implementation, operation, and sustainment.
Capacity to act as technical owner for delivery of mixed hardware/software system, including stakeholder engagement, scoping, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, and sustainment.
Capacity to learn and grow individually while mentoring junior team members effectively, building team cohesion and capacity.
Ability to obtain and maintain Australian Government Security Clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience writing backend services or embedded software in C++ and/or Go.
Experience writing frontend applications using Typescript and React.
Experience with design, implementation, and operation of horizontally scaled cloud technologies.
Experience with design, implementation, and support of embedded software, particularly in robotics.
Familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts.
Desire to learn and grow into other roles requiring experience as a Senior Software Engineer, such as Principal Software Engineer and/or Engineering Manager.
