The role
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering strategic policy and program advice in line with Office of the Chief Health Officer (OCHO) priorities, supported by thorough research, analysis, and data evaluation. Your work will ensure consistency with departmental policies and guidelines while upholding high standards of service quality, health, and safety. You will play a key role in managing and nurturing strong relationships across government and the non-government sector, using advanced communication skills to achieve effective outcomes. Additionally, you will coordinate and lead the development, review, and continuous improvement of complex projects, contributing to the creation of best practice frameworks for programs, including priority projects from the OCHO.
Your responsibilities will include analysing, evaluating, and reporting on submissions and activities to enhance current and future processes. You will prepare high-quality written and verbal communication for various stakeholders, including submissions, briefs, ministerial and departmental correspondence. Furthermore, you will provide expert, time-critical advice to the Director of OCHO on complex strategic policy issues, ensuring alignment with the Department and Government's priorities. The role requires you to work autonomously, manage deadlines, establish priorities, and collaborate effectively as a team member to contribute to the organisation's objectives, all while adhering to the Queensland Public Service values.
The successful person
To excel in this role, you will need a strong track record in researching and analysing complex issues, coupled with the ability to provide high-quality, timely advice and options to both internal and external stakeholders. Your advanced written and verbal communication skills will be crucial, particularly in confidently negotiating and presenting complex ideas and recommendations to influence positive outcomes.
Furthermore, you should have proven experience in developing and coordinating comprehensive policy and program advice to meet strategic goals and deliver results for government and stakeholders. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, adjust priorities, and achieve results within tight deadlines in a dynamic environment will be essential.
