We are seeking an experienced **Buyer** on full time basis based in Gepps Cross, SA who can develop, negotiate, and implement state promotional activity and business plans for the meat & seafood category for state/national based suppliers.

The role is responsible for the delivery of a program that realizes state sales (warehouse and retail), retailer gross profit and budgeted income objectives, under a national category management framework. The Buyer builds strong relationships with retailers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver optimal range, promotional plan, and recommended pricing to deliver commercial objectives. This role supports the State/National category strategy and National Merchandise team to deliver the financial and commercial KPIs and plan.

**What you'll do**
- Able to achieve budgets in line with strategic plan initiatives and able to acquire product from direct suppliers or market agents within specification of price.
- Able to manage our business partners, direct suppliers and can identify potential supply and products and develop to an outcome.
- Manage stock control to minimize potential losses and able to drive and meat/seafood sales budgets by procuring stock within specifications and on selling to new and existing customers.
- Ranging/ Inventory Management including ensuring correct ranging and pricing within market conditions.
- Implementation of strategic business plans and able to achieve required sales margin as per budget.

**What you'll be**
- A leader with a proven track record in working within complex environments, driving promotional strategies, and working within a variety of categories.
- 3-5 years of experience in meat and seafood category (preferred)
- An understanding and preferably experience working with the independent retail landscape.
- Advanced negotiation skills for effective supplier management
- Highly innovative and relentless in achieving results whilst maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret data and extrapolate insights.
- Ability to transfer knowledge and share opportunities within the wider team.
- Sound presentation skills coupled with great interpersonal skills.
