The Opportunity

As the Enterprise Data Quality Steward, you will be at the forefront of developing a federated data quality measurement and monitoring capability, driving significant improvements to mature our enterprise data governance and quality. Your role will involve creating an atmosphere of confidence and trust, acting as the primary coordinator and developer of a federated data quality operating model (DQ Continuum) across the enterprise, in close consultation with the Chapter Area and Chapter Lead. This DQ Continuum framework is designed to integrate data quality checks, reconciliation activities, and reporting from data acquisition and profiling to pipeline reconciliation and end data product validation. Utilizing a flexible and robust SQL + Python framework, it ensures consistent operational monitoring of data quality and completeness within our modern Snowflake data hub. The outcomes and progress of data quality activities are made available for review by teams and leadership through Power BI and Alation, showcasing both current states and trends over time.

This role offers a Permanent full-time contract and embraces flexible working arrangements. You'll have the freedom to work remotely, with occasional office attendance required on an ad hoc basis, ensuring a harmonious balance between business needs and personal flexibility.

Your Story

Enterprise Data Integrity Process:

- Enhance data quality capabilities by educating and supporting Data Stewards, Engineers, and Data Analysts.
- Develop the DQ Continuum as the central repository for data quality results, integrating checks, reconciliation, and remediation efforts.
- Hands-on role requiring advanced SQL, Python, data modelling, and Power BI reporting skills.

Data Governance:

- Educate the business on data quality responsibilities and foster a culture of accountability.
- Define and embed data quality principles, policies, and standards throughout the data lifecycle.
- Maintain data frameworks to comply with privacy and regulatory requirements.

Business Engagement & Collaboration:

- Manage change and stakeholder engagement to integrate transparent data quality into the data lifecycle.
- Support Enterprise Data Stewards in promoting data quality thought leadership and training.
- Collaborate with data governance forums and Domain Data Stewards to emphasize the importance of data quality across the business.
