The OpportunityReport to Sous Chef, supervise team members, perform & co-ordinate general and specialized food preparation and cooking duties ensuring a consistently high quality of food product and service while maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic work area.Your Day To DayApply and monitor food safety procedures to ensure all menu items are prepared and served in line with food safety standardsEnsure that all meals are of a high quality, cost effective and within budget, and that all duties are performed in a manner that complies with Food Safety regulationsAssist & relieve Sous Chef as and when requiredResponsible for ensuring all kitchen opening and closing procedures are followedCo-ordinate activities of a team in a kitchen environment ensuring portion control and food quality while maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic work areaOrganize appropriate equipment as required in preparation for events/ buffetsReceipting & supervising of stock received from F&B Warehouse & storage of stock in accordance with food safety guidelinesMonitor and motivate team members to achieve a high standard of guest serviceConduct training and assess competency of team members to assist in team development & mentoringWhat You'll BringRelevant Chef qualification(s) with Certificate III Commercial Cookery is essentialExperience working in theme parks or corporate conference events setting is essentialIndustry experience in high volume kitchen operations is essentialAbility to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays across all the parks, as required by event schedulesEffective leadership, communication skills, delegation & guidanceComprehensive understanding of food hygiene and Food Safety programKnowledge of customer dietary requirementsAccredited Food Safety Supervisor an advantageKnowledge of market trends relating to food and menusAble to work at any Village Roadshow Theme Park property as required
