Job Overview
The Cloud Platform Engineering team is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud infrastructure.
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining our Kubernetes-based platform.
You will help ensure that our end-to-end processes - development, testing, deployment, and maintenance - are optimized and code-driven.
Becoming familiar with our software stack and integrating it into our platform architecture, making changes to application code when needed, and using the best technologies possible to achieve our goals
Ensuring we stay current with industry best practices for operating in the cloud, being a passionate advocate of DevOps culture, and actively contributing towards innovating on and improving our software engineering practices
Developing toolchain support: CI/CD pipelines, ephemeral test environments, vulnerability scanning, and automated infrastructure-as-code deployment tooling
Helping ensure our applications are scalable, highly available, and cloud-agnostic. We target multiple public clouds, and may provision private infrastructure for select clients
The ideal candidate will have:
2+ years of industry experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Site Reliability engineering or equivalent
Experience working with Kubernetes in a production environment, and familiarity with the key components needed to create a Kubernetes cluster in a production scenario
Working knowledge of public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP to know how to configure them to current best practices as infrastructure-as-code and how that applies to a Kubernetes environment
Proficiency in software development and programming, and the ability to quickly understand an application's codebase
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Desirable qualifications include:
Relevant Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS
Relevant public cloud certifications such as AWS SAA/SAP or GCP ACE/PCA
Familiarity with the CNCF and its various projects
Experience using GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux CD
