Job Overview

The Cloud Platform Engineering team is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud infrastructure.

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining our Kubernetes-based platform.

You will help ensure that our end-to-end processes - development, testing, deployment, and maintenance - are optimized and code-driven.

  • Becoming familiar with our software stack and integrating it into our platform architecture, making changes to application code when needed, and using the best technologies possible to achieve our goals
  • Ensuring we stay current with industry best practices for operating in the cloud, being a passionate advocate of DevOps culture, and actively contributing towards innovating on and improving our software engineering practices
  • Developing toolchain support: CI/CD pipelines, ephemeral test environments, vulnerability scanning, and automated infrastructure-as-code deployment tooling
  • Helping ensure our applications are scalable, highly available, and cloud-agnostic. We target multiple public clouds, and may provision private infrastructure for select clients

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years of industry experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Site Reliability engineering or equivalent
  • Experience working with Kubernetes in a production environment, and familiarity with the key components needed to create a Kubernetes cluster in a production scenario
  • Working knowledge of public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP to know how to configure them to current best practices as infrastructure-as-code and how that applies to a Kubernetes environment
  • Proficiency in software development and programming, and the ability to quickly understand an application's codebase
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Relevant Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS
  • Relevant public cloud certifications such as AWS SAA/SAP or GCP ACE/PCA
  • Familiarity with the CNCF and its various projects
  • Experience using GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux CD
