About the Placement
Are you a student looking for hands-on experience in mental health?
Our Student Placement Program offers a unique opportunity to gain practical skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and make a real impact in the community.
During your placement, you'll be part of a team providing recovery-focused mental health support to individuals.
Responsibilities
Assist with client intake, assessments and case management
Conduct assessments and support recovery planning
Facilitate recovery programs, group activities and community engagement
Provide practical and emotional support to individuals
Learn about trauma-informed and person-centered care
Observe and assist experienced mental health professionals
About You
To be considered for a student placement, you will need to have:
Qualifications and Certificates
Currently enrolled in a relevant qualification (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health)
Current National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than six months)
A valid First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid, HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support, HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
A current working with Children Check
A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
A valid Driver's licence
Skills and Experience
Passionate about mental health and supporting others
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to a trauma-informed and recovery-focused approach
Desirable
Lived experience of mental health recovery or as family members of people with a lived experience of recovery is desirable
Attitude
Positive attitude towards people experiencing mental distress
Ability to live RW values in all workplace tasks and interactions
Pro-active individual who is enthusiastic and committed to upholding RW values and principles
Student Placements are only offered between Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.
