As a Work Health and Safety (WHS) Advisor, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of the City's WHS program. You will provide expert advice and support across the organisation, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and fostering a strong safety culture.

**In this role, you will**:

- Communicate and uphold WHS policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Assist in the review and maintenance of WHS policies, procedures, and the Safety Management Plan.
- Provide expert advice on WHS matters, including workers' compensation.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments, recommending corrective actions.
- Manage and assess workers' compensation claims and oversee injury management systems.
- Develop and deliver WHS training programs for employees.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, health surveillance programs, and wellness initiatives.

**What we are looking for**

To be successful, you must have
- Significant experience in a WHS role, with a solid understanding of applicable WHS legislation, policies and procedures
- Strong ability to engage, influence and support stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to assess risks and implement effective safety solutions
- Collaborative mindset working in a small team, exercising initiative and sound judgement

**Essential requirements**
- Current driver's licence
- Qualification in Work Health and Safety or related discipline
