The International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS) is a global non-profit organisation that enables networking and knowledge exchange in the sports, leisure, and recreation facilities industry. With a presence in 153 countries, IAKS hosts biennial congresses, facility tours, seminars, and publishes white papers and specialist magazines to share expertise in sports and leisure facilities design and operation. Committed to sustainability and inclusivity, IAKS promotes collaboration and networking among professionals from various disciplines.
Role Description
This is a volunteer role for a Non-Executive Director at IAKS Australia & New Zealand. The Non-Executive Director will be responsible for providing strategic guidance, contributing to board discussions, and supporting the organisation's mission of promoting sustainable and inclusive sports and leisure facilities and facilitating an active world.
This role involves remote participation in board meetings and decision-making processes, as well as attending in person events and actively seeking opportunities to promote and grow the IAKS ANZ Section across the region.
Qualifications
Experience in strategic planning and decision-making
Knowledge of the sports, leisure, or recreation facilities industry
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven leadership and governance experience
Previous board or committee experience is a plus
