We are seeking a talented Design Draftsperson with strong mechanical and plant design expertise to join a leading engineering and project delivery team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is highly detail-oriented, and is motivated by contributing to impactful infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Plant3D, Inventor, and AutoCAD across mechanical, piping, plant layout, and process design.
Work closely with project teams to deliver drawings and specifications on schedule and within budget.
Apply engineering principles, regulatory standards, and drafting best practice to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Liaise with fabricators, clients, and stakeholders to clarify design intent, review models, and oversee fabrication accuracy.
Build and maintain a library of 3D models and support project and sales engineers with documentation.
Skills & Experience
Drafting qualifications in 3D and 2D (Certificate/Diploma in Engineering highly regarded).
5+ years' drafting/design experience, ideally within water or wastewater project environments.
Proficiency with Autodesk Plant3D, AutoCAD, and Inventor (Vault experience a plus).
Strong knowledge of mechanical design, safety in design, and applicable Australian standards.
High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to perform under time and budget constraints.
