About the role
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Principal Program Officer to oversee key apprenticeship and traineeship activities within the Queensland Apprenticeship and Traineeship Office (QATO). The role involves managing complex data sets, providing analysis and reports to stakeholders, and ensuring program governance and compliance requirements are met.
**As the Principal Program Officer, you will**:

- Develop, maintain, quality assure and extract complex apprenticeship and traineeship data for reporting and analysis.
- Participate in operational policy and research activities impacting vocational education and training in Queensland.
- Build and manage positive working relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry groups, and regional service providers.
- Lead governance activities related to agreements such as the Norfolk Island Apprenticeship and Traineeship Support Service.
- Provide high-level advice and reporting to government entities on apprenticeship and traineeship activities.

What we are looking for
- Expertise in data analysis, reporting, and presenting complex training data to internal and external audiences.
- Strong leadership capabilities to support quality assurance and data integrity in training administration systems.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, consultation, and negotiation across government and industry sectors.
- A deep understanding of vocational education and training policies, including the Further Education and Training Act 2014.
- Strong written communication skills, including preparing Cabinet submissions, policy documents, and briefing notes.
