Job Overview
Azure Core Storage plays a pivotal role in delivering the Storage Virtualization platform to Azure Virtual Machines. Our software stack handles trillions of input/output operations daily from Azure Virtual Machines, operating across hundreds of data centers and over one thousand clusters.
Main Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements through active engagement.
Drive identification of dependencies and development of comprehensive design documents.
Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to enhance performance and maintainability.
Leverage subject-matter expertise to drive project plans and work items, ensuring seamless execution.
Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers to ensure team success.
Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to emerging trends and technical solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience.
4+ years experience in design, development, debugging, testing, and problem-solving, with a proven track record of solid results.
4+ years experience in system software, storage protocols, networking concepts, and operating system internals.
4+ years handling periodic live service on-call responsibilities, demonstrating resilience under pressure.
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR Master's Degree in Computer Science and 6+ years technical engineering experience.
1+ years experience in system software, storage protocols, networking concepts, and operating system internals, with a focus on innovation.
1+ years experience in operating system driver development, showcasing exceptional skill.
A track record of solid results across multiple ship cycles, with continuous improvement.
