Job Overview

Azure Core Storage plays a pivotal role in delivering the Storage Virtualization platform to Azure Virtual Machines. Our software stack handles trillions of input/output operations daily from Azure Virtual Machines, operating across hundreds of data centers and over one thousand clusters.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements through active engagement.
  • Drive identification of dependencies and development of comprehensive design documents.
  • Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to enhance performance and maintainability.
  • Leverage subject-matter expertise to drive project plans and work items, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers to ensure team success.
  • Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to emerging trends and technical solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience.
  • 4+ years experience in design, development, debugging, testing, and problem-solving, with a proven track record of solid results.
  • 4+ years experience in system software, storage protocols, networking concepts, and operating system internals.
  • 4+ years handling periodic live service on-call responsibilities, demonstrating resilience under pressure.
Additional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR Master's Degree in Computer Science and 6+ years technical engineering experience.
  • 1+ years experience in system software, storage protocols, networking concepts, and operating system internals, with a focus on innovation.
  • 1+ years experience in operating system driver development, showcasing exceptional skill.
  • A track record of solid results across multiple ship cycles, with continuous improvement.
