Financial Expertise

This senior role in finance is designed to provide leadership and expertise in fund accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers to support fund distributions, tax lodgements, audits, and corporate month-end close processes.

  • Coordinate end-to-end monthly and annual fund distribution processes
  • Review quarterly Business Activity Statements for all funds
  • Prepare and lodge fund income tax returns
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the fund audit process
  • Oversee fund accounting activities and new fund establishment processes
  • Apply international tax regulations and taxation laws related to funds/trusts
  • Assist in corporate month-end close processes and financial reporting

Required Qualifications:

  • 4–5 years of experience in accounting and/or tax within funds management or fund administration
  • Experience with managed investment schemes, unit trusts, or ETF structures highly desirable
  • Familiarity with fund distribution processes, including investor tax reporting and tax reclaims highly desirable
  • Prior involvement in the fund audit process and month-end reporting beneficial

Key Skills:

  • Australian fund taxation knowledge, including AMIT/MIT regimes and income attribution concepts
  • Working knowledge of income tax return preparation for trusts and managed funds
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other common business tools and applications
  • Experience with accounting systems, Xero preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CA or CPA qualified (or working towards completion)
  • Additional postgraduate qualifications in Taxation desirable but not required
