**The Role**:
**What's the role?**
The purpose of this role is to enable the business to access land and retain access to land while developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with Shell's key stakeholders.
In this Brisbane-based role, you will be required to:
- Negotiate contracts with landholders to access their land; and
- (In consultation with Shell Legal) advise the business on its ongoing contractual and statutory obligations with respect to land access; and
- Assist in the resolution of any concerns raised by landholders (either directly or through their legal representatives).
You will be expected to utilize their problem-solving skills to facilitate commercial outcomes for the organization.
Some of the key deliverables and responsibilities of this role are:
- Accountability for reaching agreements for access to land in compliance with relevant legislation whilst maintaining Shell's high standards with respect to its social license to operate.
- Identifying risk and developing appropriate risk minimization strategies, including adopting formal and information dispute resolution procedures.
- Developing and executing strategies for negotiation that meet project timeframes.
- Accountability for ensuring all written and verbal correspondence is of a high professional standard and clearly communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Escalating issues internally (as required) to ensure issues are dealt with promptly and that QGC operations are not affected; and
- Assisting to implement compliance activities to meet the needs of the Access Team.
**What we need from you**
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Proven problem solving, contracts and stakeholder management skills. Ideally you will have substantial some experience in land access, real property, or legal industries.
- Related work, preferably in the CSG industry, with a sound knowledge in major project development and a demonstrated understanding of issues that impact a large resource development.
- Ability to demonstrate a track record of adding real value to the decision-making processes in a business with an ability to present a point of view thoughtfully and persuasively with a high level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in delivering outcomes against tight deadlines and reaching goals despite obstacles, setbacks and/or uncertainty.
- An excellent communicator to a wide variety of audience types you will have the ability to work in and influence multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders from both internal and external businesses.
