The Queensland Revenue Office is responsible for collecting state taxes (including duties, payroll tax and land tax) and mining and petroleum royalties, administering certain grants, and collecting and enforcing unpaid fines and court orders through the State Penalties Enforcement Registry.

As a department, QRO enables the Commissioner to provide Queenslanders with expert, insightful and trusted stewardship of Queensland revenue that supports the delivery of vital government services.

QRO's workforce of around 700 people work collaboratively to administer a revenue base of approximately $16 billion and grant schemes of approximately $100 million per annum by delivering simple, efficient and equitable revenue management services. QRO takes a client centric approach to help our clients meet their obligations and receive their correct entitlements.

This role forms part of QRO's Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) and delivers dedicated financial related support for Programs and Projects.

The Project Financial Coordinator will:

- Create and facilitate a monthly cost recovery process between QRO and other Government departments, for any cross-agency projects and initiatives, including:

- agreeing project resources and financial commitments for cost recovery;
- receiving and reconciling monthly invoices from external agencies and validating actual effort charged matches agreed commitments
- working with project managers to resolve any discrepancies in financials;
- maintaining a change control process if committed project resources change and there is an impact to financial commitments.
- Support project managers to create detailed program and project cost schedules to set a baseline project budget and inform funding submissions.
- At the end of each month, complete accrual activities on behalf of Strategic Projects division to document all effort completed in that month but not yet expensed against each individual project budget.
- At the beginning of each month, reconcile actual expenditure for the previous month against projects budget and re-calculate total forecast spend for the remainder of the project.
- Monitor and analyse program and project budgets to assess performance against set project tolerances.
- Complete quality control over financial transactions to identify where corrections are necessary (e.g. journalled between budgets).
- Prepare fit for purpose financial summaries for various project governance forums.

**Skills and Experience**
- 5+ years' experience in a project financial coordination role.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex and high value program and project budgets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
- Skills in Power BI would be highly regarded.
