OverviewPublic Sector People are working with a fantastic QLD State Government Department to recruit an experienced AO6 Senior Finance Business Partner.
This is a 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension for the right candidate.
You will be a key advisor to divisional and cost centre management, with expertise in financial performance reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to contribute to high-quality, financially sustainable outcomes.ResponsibilitiesProvide high-level business partnering support on financial and FTE performance, enhancing financial, operational, and departmental outcomes.Lead the divisional budget cycle, ensuring accurate and timely completion in line with departmental guidelines.Actively participate in monthly performance review meetings, providing insightful variance analysis and identifying key opportunities for improvement.Prepare and present regular full-year forecasts, flagging potential financial risks and developing recommendations to maintain budget integrity.Manage and provide oversight of Service Level Agreements and funding arrangements.Collaborate with a range of multidisciplinary staff and executives to review financial performance and inform business decisions.Contribute to the mentoring and coaching of junior finance team members.What We're Looking ForProven experience in a similar Senior Finance Business Partner role, preferably within a large, complex organisation.Exceptional skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.A strong ability to build effective relationships and communicate complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.Experience working within a government environment is highly regarded but not essential.A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or Business is highly desirable.Professional registration (e.g., CPA, CA, CIMA, or ICA) is highly desirable.How To ApplyPlease submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
