**About the role**

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the Procurement Manager Governance and Operations works with key stakeholders across Pacific National business to develop, deploy, maintain, and monitor compliance across all procurement policies, standards, processes, and tools.

They will lead and co-ordinate the delivery of the Procurement strategic roadmap which includes improvement initiatives across all Procurement governance, controls, and third-party sustainability programs, whilst owning delivery of key strategic procurement initiatives and leading the governance and operations team to support delivery of the procurement pipeline, end to end category management program, ongoing governance and compliance monitoring and reporting programs.

This is a pivotal new role, working as part of a collaborative, cohesive and supportive procurement team to shape Procurement for the future and support delivering Pacific National's strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

- Drive the improvement, standardisation, compliance and efficiency of procurement policies, standards, processes, systems and tools
- Drive delivery of the strategic procurement roadmap across Pacific National's supply base
- Develop and provide visibility on compliance, risk and spend analysis reporting across our supply base
- Manage effective communication of and compliance to our procurement policy with all stakeholders
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on procurement audit matters
- Develop and deploy automated, online or outsourced self-serve solutions to simplify purchasing processes and make them more efficient and drive positive outcomes
- Continuously improve support and purchasing processes, including leveraging technology
- Continually improve our internal processes in working with internal stakeholders, Legal, and suppliers.
- Lead the co-ordination and reporting of the annual Procurement Program of Works, including all initiatives planned for the year to achieve the procurement benefits target
- Provide direction, coaching, supervision, and training to direct reports, driving continuous improvement and building team capability to improve delivery of value to the business.

**About you**
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with ability to influence and promote positive change
- Experience in wider procurement functions and understanding of procurement deliverables, with sound understanding of best practice procurement
- Ability to make the complex simple and influence through effective storytelling
- Proven analytical, logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- A high level of personal integrity, with respect and empathy for others
- Experienced people manager with strong coaching skills and a natural ability to inspire and motivate to achieve excellence.
