The Payroll Officer navigates the smooth, accurate delivery of payroll across Novatti, ensuring our people are paid correctly and on time, every time.
You'll lead the launch of a new payroll system while managing existing processes through HiBob, overseeing multiple payrolls and keeping employee data accurate and up to date.
As our go-to for payroll queries, you'll help us stay compliant, policy-aligned, and crystal clear in our communication.
This role plays a vital part in shaping a trusted payroll experience, keeping us on course toward a stronger operational horizon.Payroll OperationsNavigate multiple payrolls with confidence, maintaining accurate employee pay details in HiBob and ensuring every payment lands on time and without error.Work closely with Finance, People Experience (PX), and senior leaders to resolve queries and keep communication clear, consistent, and human.Compliance and ReportingEnsure payroll practices stay firmly on the right side of legislation and employment law.Handle timely payments and accurate reporting of Payroll Tax, WorkCover, Superannuation, and other statutory requirements.Prepare accurate payroll reports that help stakeholders see what's ahead on the compliance horizon.PX Data and Records ManagementCollaborate with PX to maintain secure, accurate employee records in HiBob, from onboarding to role changes.Help the business reach its digital destination by moving all payroll records to secure electronic storage with reliable backup processes.Payroll System Selection, Implementation, and OwnershipPlay a key role in evaluating, selecting, and implementing Novatti's next payroll system, one that meets our needs today and sets us up for what's next.Partner with vendors and internal teams to configure, test, and launch the system smoothly and successfully.Own the system post-launch, keeping it performing at its best, maintaining data integrity, and streamlining payroll workflows.Support adoption across the business by training and empowering users as we shift toward smarter, future-ready tools.What makes you a great candidateThings move fast, so we're after self-starters who aren't afraid to dive in and make things happen.
To help you thrive in this role, here are some key things we're looking for:5+ years' experience navigating payroll operations in small to medium-sized organisations, with confident ownership of HRIS platforms as a system administrator or lead user.Skilled in managing end-to-end payroll and payroll partners, with a strong understanding of legislation, entitlements, and compliance across Payroll Tax, WorkCover, and Super.Experienced in launching and refining payroll or HRIS systems, with a sharp eye for detail and a focus on delivering accurate, zero-defect outcomes.A proactive communicator who collaborates with PX, Finance, Legal, vendors, and leaders to keep things on track and moving toward a better payroll destination.Committed to looking beyond the current horizon, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and elevate the payroll experience for everyone.
