People & Culture Adviser
Join us and be part of Victoria's Big Build, working within the award-winning LXRP People and Culture (P&C) team. This opportunity will see you partnering directly with key stakeholders and ensure you are never far from the action as we positively impact the communities throughout Melbourne and change the way Victorians live, work and travel.
About the role
As the People and Culture Adviser, you will be reporting into the Senior P&C Business Partner and working closely with them to provide advice and recommendations to the business by interpreting our legislation, policies and (in particular) the VPS Enterprise Agreement. You will be building strong working relationships with leaders across the business, and contributing to our culture of connection and innovation by:
- Being the first point of contact for people leaders to provide guidance on workforce planning, people issues, recruitment, performance planning and employee management.
- Championing the delivery of innovative people solutions to the business - we're developing and rolling out exciting people projects all the time
- Networking and looping in with the broader P&C division in the development of people projects, and initiatives that directly benefit our people.
These are both 3-year fixed term positions, paying a salary between $90,067 and $102,192 + superannuation. We work in a hybrid capacity, which means a mix of office (121 Exhibition Street) and home/remote throughout the week. Our team day in the office together, which we call our 'anchor day', is every Wednesday Flexible working options are also available for you to access/request - we have many people across the organisation that work flexibly.
About you
You have the working knowledge of relevant HR legislation, regulations and policies, and the ability to interpret them into digestible and non-technical format for our employees. Your previous experience in an HR environment will set you up for success, along with the following skills:
- Strong communication skills so you can proactively build robust relationships and manage stakeholder interactions.
- Prioritisation and organisational skills that will set you, your stakeholders and the Senior P&C Business Partners up for success. Meeting deadlines is key
- A keen attention to detail and an aptitude for process management.
- Solutions focused, with 'out of the box' thinking and the ability to adapt our legislation and policies to any situation.
About the team
You will be working within the People Partnerships & Services team, which is part of the broader People and Culture department. P&C is a team of around 40-50 people, and we love to work laterally and in collaboration with each other to provide the best experience we can for our employees and anyone that has interactions with LXRP.
Last year our P&C team was a finalist in the Australian HR Employer of Choice Awards, and a finalist for the Best Leadership Program. We have a reward and recognition culture within the team, providing daily/weekly shoutouts across the team along with a monthly 'P&C People's Choice Award' which is like our office-friendly version of the Brownlow. We love recognising the hard work P&C does, and the cool things we do for people

What next?
*
- What type of experience do you have in Human Resources (HR), in particular interpreting HR legislation (or similar) and providing associated advice to employees?
- To work in HR requires a passion for working with people and delivering results that benefit employees and the organisation. We would love to know about a time you have delivered advice or worked on a people project (or similar)
