About the opportunity

Join Culture Amp's Melbourne Engineering Internship Program from 24th November 2025 to 20th February 2026

Our 3-month internship program is a fantastic opportunity to gain the skills and experiences you need to kickstart a rewarding journey in software engineering. 

Engineering at Culture Amp is an inclusive practice made up of cross-functional, lightweight agile teams that use AI as a creative partner to amplify their impact. You will be surrounded by talented engineers, learning from others, as well as sharing your knowledge with them. 

Our internship program is all about providing you with growth opportunities, driven by the "3 E's of Development":

  • Gain hands-on experience working with a supportive cross-functional team, setting you up for success in your tech career.

  • Exposure to talented engineers. Receive guidance from a dedicated onboarding buddy and experienced mentors, helping you navigate the world of Culture Amp and software engineering.

  • Expand your technical and core skills through bite-sized learning activities that seamlessly support your hands-on growth.

As an intern on one of our teams, you can expect to:

  • Tackle a wide variety of technical problems across our codebases as you build features with support from your team.

  • Collaborate with other engineers in your team through pair programming.

  • Partner with AI coding agents to collaborate and amplify your development workflow.

  • Work with the product managers and designers in your team to understand customer problems and help to develop, refine, and then implement solutions.

  • Maintain and support the services your team is responsible for.

About you

This role could be for you if:

  • You are currently working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering (or a related STEM field) and expect to complete it within the next year.

  • You are self-motivated and can work independently. You take the initiative to ensure you have everything you need to work efficiently and call for support when required.

  • You have a growth mindset and you are willing to embrace challenges.

  • You are willing to learn to work across the technology stack that Culture Amp uses to develop our products - you are likely to find yourself working with TypeScript, Ruby, Kotlin, and Go but not limited to only these.

  • You are excited about the potential of AI to help engineers innovate, and are open to leveraging AI coding tools such as Claude Code.

  • You are a proactive and clear communicator. You value empathy and kindness and are able to articulate your ideas and feelings when writing or speaking, and are open to the perspectives others bring.

  • You are aligned with our values and demonstrate them through your working practice.

  • You are based in Melbourne, Australia.
