Join our dynamic Inorganics team as a Casual **Laboratory Technician**and play a key role in delivering high-quality analytical results across soil, water, and air testing**.** This hands-on position supports the day-to-day operations of our laboratory, where you'll assist in both routine and specialised testing, ensuring accurate and timely outcomes that uphold SGS's reputation for excellence.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

- With mínimal supervision and a degree of independence, initiative and judgment, undertake routine and non-routine analysis using wet chemistry and instrumentation techniques in the inorganic section.
- Understand general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.
- Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean to avoid contamination and protect the company's assets.
- Carry out scheduled instrument calibration and maintenance in accordance with the written procedures.
- Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through courses and on the job training to support improvement.
- Ensure that safety equipment is used where necessary, used correctly and used at all times.
- Report immediately any unsafe work condition or equipment to the supervisor.
- Perform other duties as directed by the section supervisor.

**Qualifications**
- Appropriate tertiary qualification, TAFE certificates minimum
- Experience in a general laboratory environment preferred
- Flexibility with working hours and tasks
