We are seeking experienced Underground Surveillance Officers to support our client with an ongoing project located in Regional NSW. This is a FIFO with flexible roster (14/7 or 8/6).
**About You**
As an Underground Surveillance Officer, you will be responsible for providing an underground surveillance and assurance function to ensure underground works being undertaken by the appointed Principal Contractor are in line with agreed deliverables.
This position reports to the Geotechnical Manager and the Senior Project Engineer.
**Responsibilities**:
**_ Contractor Oversight & Monitoring_**
- Ensure client requirements are met and the Contractor is complying with the client's design and construction requirements.
- Proactively working towards preventing short, medium and long term legacy issues which could compromise the project asset performing the way it is designed to.
- Maintain communication with the Geotechnical Manager on the status of issues observed and requiring mitigation in the field.
- Proactively work with all site parties to achieve the highest standard of permanent and temporary works to minimize future legacy issues associated with quality and safety and functionality of the same.
- Coordinate with the Safety and Environmental Assurance Officers to ensure the project is complying strictly with the day to day deliverables.
- Daily inspections and reports of all active work fronts including detailed plant, labour and equipment records associated with dayworks or variations.
- Routine inspection of all non-active work fronts.
- Ensure the works are being carried out in accordance with the latest IFC drawings and specifications.
- Work closely with the Quality Engineers and attend site inspections for the release of Witness and Hold Points identified in the Contractor's ITP's.
- Keep daily records and photographs of all work conducted on site and store on the client platform.
**_Quality Management_**
- Perform on-site Quality Management on civil engineering and construction work.
- Ensure all necessary quality documentation is being produced and recorded by the Contractor.
- Ensure the works are being carried out in accordance with the latest IFC drawings, specifications and other relevant project construction documents.
- Monitor and prepare the daily reports on all works in progress at the site and report to the Project Manager.
- Review Contractor ´s Lot records as required by the Quality Manager.
**Experience**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles in the infrastructure construction or related industries.
- Construction trade/supervision background, combined with relevant training and experience.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to proactively make decisions, identify issues and resolve in a timely manner.
- Effectively adapt to change in work tasks and the work environment.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and autonomously.
