**Principal - Commercial (12 Month Fixed-Term Contract)**

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Principal to join Marsh in Melbourne on a 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract. Working within the Commercial team, you will be responsible for the growth, profitability and client satisfaction of a book of business containing high-touch SME accounts. This includes managing and developing client relationships, acting as the client's trusted advisor, pursuing new business development, and expanding and diversifying the mix of Marsh products and services the client holds.

Reporting to the National Head of Commercial, you will mentor and support one direct report. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop their leadership skills and progress in their career.

**We will count on you to**:

- Manage all aspects of a portfolio of SME accounts, ensuring that a high degree of quality customer service is provided to all clients at all times and complete adherence to the principles of the Greater Good
- Manage, mentor, co-ordinate and develop junior team members and administrative staff through clear and effective communication, delegation and performance management
- Contribute towards the Company's profit objectives through the effective management and attainment of revenue and expense budgets. Consistently grow the portfolio of accounts through new business contribution and cross-sell initiatives
- Contribute towards achieving Divisional and Team business plans and objectives
- Create quality underwriting submissions and effectively negotiates with insurers and other stakeholders

**We would like you to have**:

- Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (NIBA) or Senior Associate (ANZIIF)
- Diploma in Financial Services (Insurance Broking) or Degree in related field
- Business acumen including a well-rounded knowledge of general business function, finance and issues
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization including the 'C' Suite
- Ability to prioritise work, multi-task and consistently meet deadlines
