**About the role - Multiple Permanent, Part-Time Positions Available**
The Child and Youth Support Worker is a key member of a small, collaborative team of professionals who are responsible for 24/7, ongoing care and protection of children and young people who are under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive and living in short and long term residential care. The team around the child provides trauma informed, person-centred care within a strengths-based and restorative framework. In partnership with other Baptist Care SA professionals, the Department for Child Protection (DCP), and other key stakeholders, Child and Youth Support Workers play an integral role of raising children and young people who are unable to live with family or in family-based care.
Your support and connection will show in many ways whether it is helping with the school run, taking clients to sport on the weekend, or sitting around the table for an evening meal, you will constantly be enriching their lives and building life skills and independence.
The Placement and Support Packages is Short Term individualised and targeted Support Package based on the specific need of Children and Young People. The program is a 90 day model for the purpose of assessment to support in understanding what are the placement needs and what the young people require from their placement in order to support their future placement.
**About you**:
You truly believe in the ability to foster and nurture positive relationships with young people, as you recognise the life-long influence it will have as they grow. You are enthusiastic, approachable, have a sense of adventure and are not afraid to get hands on in an array of activities. You also know how to manage boundaries, be safe and effectively supervise. You love building relationships and can effectively create bonds with children of all ages. You finish each day with a sense of satisfaction knowing the positive impact you've had on someone else, no matter how big or small.
- You will also have the following skills and experience:_
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth, & Family Intervention (Or Equivalent) *

- Previous experience in working with vulnerable and at-risk children and young people
- Can work in high pressured situations and practice self-care
- Manage and respond to difficult and at times aggressive behaviours using trauma informed care and holistic client centred practice
- Efficient in completing administration tasks including case notes, mandatory reporting and handovers

- You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain:_
- Full unrestricted South Australia Driver's License
- DHS Child-Related Employment Screening or Working With Children Check
- National Police Clearance
- A Successful Psychological Suitability Assessment in accordance with Department of Child Protection requirements
- Training: Provide First Aid
- Training: Safe Environments for Children and Young People - 'Through their Eyes'
- To be considered for employment with Baptist Care SA, you must have an up-to-date Covid 19 Vaccination status or be able to provide an appropriate medical exemption.
- Ability to work across a 24 hour 7 day a week roster
