Golden Care Services is seeking a dedicated male Disability Support Worker to provide community access support for a male participant who uses a wheelchair and requires assistance in attending appointments.

Shift days: Monday and Friday

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing assistance to the male participant in attending appointments, ensuring safe and timely arrival and departure
- Supporting the participant in navigating community settings and accessing community resources, as needed
- Providing emotional support and encouragement to the participant, promoting their independence and well-being
- Ensuring that the participant's wheelchair is properly maintained and functioning correctly
- Maintaining accurate records of support services provided to the participant, including progress notes and incident reports
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations
- Participating in team meetings and training sessions as required
- Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or as outlined in the participant's care plan

**Requirements**:

- Certificate III or IV in Disability or a related field
- Experience providing support services to individuals with disabilities, particularly those who use a wheelchair
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of disability rights and the principles of person-centered care
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Current first aid and CPR certification
- National Police Check
- Ndis screening check
- Ndis orientation module

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Flexible hours

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Preston VIC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (required)
- Driver Licence (required)
