Job Description:
Cedar Park is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Strategist to join its finance team. As a key member of the city's management team, this role will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to all financial operations.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of governmental budgeting, accounting, auditing, and financial reporting practices. They will also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
In this role, you will work closely with the City Manager, City Council, and department heads to provide sound financial guidance and support strategic initiatives. You will also oversee the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Manage the city's annual operating and capital budgets
Provide strategic advice on fiscal issues and long-range planning
Oversee financial forecasting and analysis
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field
7+ years of experience in government finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of governmental budgeting, accounting, auditing, and financial reporting practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
