About NBMLHD
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) provides a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Lithgow regions. NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers services for children, young people, families and older people through community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to deliver person-centred mental health care in environments that meet individual needs.
The Role
This role presents an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of people living with mental health disorders across the Penrith and Hawkesbury communities. As a psychologist, you will lead impactful, person-centred care, delivering clinical treatment, disability support, and strategic referrals to essential services. Through a cross-system approach, you will champion holistic interventions that respond to each individual's unique needs.
Your expertise will shape multidisciplinary assessments, guide interventions, and contribute to discharge plans within a robust biopsychosocial framework, driving progress toward improved mental health and brighter futures. Responsibilities
Lead psychological assessments and interventions for clients with mental health issues within a multidisciplinary team.
Contribute to discharge planning within a biopsychosocial framework.
Collaborate with consumers and carers, upholding recovery principles in mental health service provision.
Provide clear, timely written and verbal communication with clients, families, and team members.
Utilise a current driver's license for work-related duties as required.
Demonstrate computer literacy and professional conduct in clinical documentation and records.
What You Will Bring To The Role
Recognised four-year tertiary qualification in Psychology and registration with Psychology Board of Australia.
Experience in psychological assessments and interventions for individuals with mental health concerns.
Ability to collaborate meaningfully with clients and carers, with a commitment to recovery principles.
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal).
Current driver's license and willingness to use it for work purposes.
Computer literacy and proficiency with relevant software and systems.
