Principal consultants play a key role in large scale strategic engagements, coaching executive teams on cutting edge leadership practices which are tailored to fit each organisation by the Principal consultant and their team.
They are Thought Leaders within Elabor8 and ideally the wider industry. They set the tone, style and skill-set expected of all Consultants within their team. Consultants look to them for guidance on career development and advice on challenging engagements.
Our Principal Consultants shape how Elabor8 Consultants and Elabor8 as a brand will be viewed in the market, playing a key role in driving and defining how their team and the business will grow and progress while also contributing to the skills and culture of the wider Elabor8 community.

**Responsibilities**
- Client Relationships and Sales Pursuits: Partner with sales and client teams on account strategy offering planning, maintaining and expanding client relationships. Identify and review opportunities and prioritize activities to optimize realization of pipeline.
- Solution Architecture: Drive client solutioning for Elabor8 sales pursuits in the business and technology area. Understand the business challenge and what the client wants to achieve; Formulate the solution based on expertise in the Technology area and Elabor8 capabilities; Identify the value proposition and differentiators for Elabor8; and Develop the storyline that represents all our capabilities to address the client's problem.

- Defining the technology strategy
- Drive technical solutions and architecture based on business requirements
- Providing training and learning in the latest trends in technology as needed
- Engaging directly with all levels of business stakeholders
- Leading, Mentoring and coaching technical teams
- Leading client engagements and providing advisory services.

Brand Promotion: Represent Elabor8 in industry conferences and forums; Drive thought leadership; and Participate in webinars, summits, media interviews, etc. representing the Elabor8 Consulting groups. Collateral, Asset, and Community Development: Develop relevant collateral, offerings, and supporting materials; Communicate collateral and offering messaging effectively to sales and client teams for qualification discussions; Drive development of assets and intellectual property; and Provide guidance to Elabor8 billable consultants in the team for professional development.
- Relationship management: Mentor more junior staff members, helping them to grow and develop as consultants; Support Elabor8's Client Services (sales) team with identification of key stakeholders and in actively providing leads; and Assist with company support activities, including recruitment, administration, marketing / comms, event management, and community building, etc.
- Thought Leadership: Contribute to Elabor8 Intellectual Property in the form of Blogs, Presentations, IP Harvesting, Intranet contributions, etc.; Attend or Facilitate IT community events such as meetups, mash-ups, seminars, study groups, etc.

**Requirements and Competencies**
- Strategy: Build and develop the technology strategy drawing on your broad technical background in Devops/ architecture / automation / software development to align with our Enterprise technology and agile transformation services strategy; Drive technical solutions and architecture based on business requirements; Leading client engagements and providing advisory services.
- Review the entire end to end value chain to mature an aligned and integrated technology offering, that meets the needs of our diverse range of clients
- Stakeholder management: Operate autonomously on client sites or lead a team of Elabor8ers, building roadmaps, innovative and value adding technical capabilities for clients.
- Team Leadership: Identifies the motivators, strengths and weaknesses of different team members and in consultation puts in place individual plans to get the best out of the team.
- Soft Skills: Proven consultancy and soft skills that allow effective strategic level consulting to clients, including the ability to shape and form-up engagements for seamless handover to Leads to run with. (ie. ability to make yourself critical and then un-important to the success of the project at the right times); Ability to accurately read the different communication styles of executive stakeholders (both client and Elabor8) while also having a strong understanding of the cultural norms of the organisation. Ability to read the different levels of decision making / funding owners, formal/informal influencers, and appreciation for the hierarchies within the organisation.
