**The Role**:
The Procurement Category Manager will be responsible for providing Programmed with a robust Category Strategy that is aligned with the overall business objectives and maximises profits through strategic procurement.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Reviewing the existing spends on supplier and subcontractor services
- Recommending strategies to optimise expenditure
- Provide strategic category advice to operations teams
- Undertaking regular audits of key providers
- Implementing robust commercial arrangements for key supplier's subcontract services
- Assisting with process improvement
- Managing and building supplier relationships
- Evaluating proposals
- Provide quantitative and qualitative insights to relevant stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance is being adhered to
- General Administrative duties

**Key skills and attributes required for the role**:

- Qualification in Business Management or related discipline is desirable
- Strong experience within a large procurement or purchasing function
- Supplier and subcontractor management skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong financial and commercial skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure within a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Extensive category management experience within a large multi-sector organisation
