**The Role**:
Join us as an Assistant Manager/Functions Coordinator at a prestigious Private School in a brand new multi million dollar facility and make that your first step to a better life.
The key to our success is our people. Your role in this environment is to provide friendly, attentive and efficient service to our valued residents through the cooking of a variety of meals, preparation of ingredients and food service.
Reporting to the Catering Manager, this position is a hands-on management role requiring you to organise functions and assist with the running of this large multi-functional catering operation.
You would help manage and lead a large team which delivers meals across multiple locations within the school campus with special emphasis on the many and varied functions that are held.
This position will be diverse and challenging. Overseeing the daily food operation for 140+ boarding students, canteens for junior & senior school day students, ELC a cafe and also small & large functions.
The role is fast paced and demands a hospitality professional who can demonstrate previous hands-on management experience with an emphasis on large & small function operations, attention to detail is a must
Experience in a large multi-faceted catering operation is essential.
**Roster**:
Full Time hours - Five days a week during term time (along with function work when required).
Roster will vary depending on business needs.
Opportunity to build time in Lieu for school holidays
**Responsibilities include: (but are not limited to)**:
- Organising and managing a range of functions
- Making sure the guests, students and staff have a great culinary experience.
- Assisting rostering & managing a large team
- Assisting management of all food service Operations
- Training staff and site compliance
- Financial management including working within weekly budgets, administration, food and labour cost analysis and management, stock management
- Forming and maintaining key relationships with residents, culinary team, client and management
- Strict adherence to Food Safety practices, HACCP and WH&S principles
**Key Essential Criteria**:
- Experience & a proven track record in a large multifaceted catering operation with emphasis on Front of house/Function operations
- A passion for great food and customer service
- Ability to communicate with various stakeholders
- Strong working knowledge of Food Safety
- A commitment to team development & leadership
- Pride in personal hygiene & presentation
- Drivers Licence
- Responsible Service of Alcohol
- Chef qualifications an advantage but not necessary
**Please Note**:
Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Police Clearance and Working with Children (WwC) check before commencing and must be fully covid vaccinated.
