Lead Architect Opportunity
Recruitment First Australia is seeking an experienced leader to join its team in Sydney.
About the Role
This senior-level position offers a unique opportunity to step into a leadership position while remaining hands-on in project work and design excellence. The right candidate will balance project delivery with practice development, playing a key role in shaping the future direction of the Sydney studio.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the design and documentation of a wide range of architectural projects
Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure project alignment and quality outcomes
Represent the studio in client meetings, workshops, and site visits
Work with senior leadership to support business development pursuits and strategic submissions
Maintain a 50/50 focus across design/project work and the generation of new opportunities (submissions, BD, practice growth)
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Architecture
Registered Architect in NSW (mandatory)
Minimum of 10 years' experience in architecture, with a demonstrated track record of leadership and delivery
Strong design sensibility with excellent communication and documentation skills
Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
Brings sector expertise that complements the studio's portfolio (e.g., Defence, Data Centres, Energy, Transport, Infrastructure, Airports)
Ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives independently
Experience or ambition to develop client relationships and secure new work is highly regarded
