About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'.
Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction's own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.
ChCV
The Children's Court of Victoria (ChCV) is a specialist court that hears and determines cases in two divisions.
The Family Division hears and determines cases involving the care and protection of Victorian children who are at risk of harm.
The Criminal Division hears and determines the criminal charges brought against children between the ages of 10-17 years.
As a specialist and dedicated court, we are able to focus solely on responding to the particular needs and interests of children, young people and their families.
This focus guides our approach to the delivery of judicial, dispute resolution, registry and support services, as well as the physical environment of our courts.
The ChCV expertly and fairly applies the law in cases involving children and young people.
We work closely with youth justice, legal services, child protection and other community-based services to provide a multi-disciplinary court response to address the best interest of children in need of protection, whilst promoting the accountability and rehabilitation of young offenders and in doing so, improving community safety.
About the Role
The Senior Registry Process Advisor will manage the registry practices and process review program within the ChCV.
The program will review current operational process guides, identify opportunities to streamline procedures to improve efficiencies and ensure the consistency of ChCV practices.
The role will support the day-to-day implementation of new operational practices and procedures along with assisting in the implementation of new legislative reforms and projects which directly impact registry functions.
Duties will include:
* reviewing and auditing the effectiveness of ChCV registry processes and practices to facilitate continuous improvement
* develop complex process maps, templates, process guides and other materials as required
* work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
* develop and deliver structured communication plans for registry staff to ensure compliance with practice directions and legislative requirements
* provide authoritative advice on Court practices, procedures and relevant legislation to the senior management group and judiciary, as applicable
* ensure a collaborative approach and consultation occurs with subject matter experts, senior manageres and staff in the development of material
This role is fixed term until 30 June 2026.
