The Women's Housing Company (WHC) is a specialist community housing provider, supporting vulnerable women across metropolitan Sydney for over 35 years. It's an exciting time to join Women's Housing as it enters into a period of growth through property transfer programs, property acquisition and property development.
**Primary Purpose**
Reporting to the Property Services Manager, the Assets Officer is responsible for ensuring that all responsive maintenance and cyclical maintenance issues are accurately documented and completed in line with budget, procurement, safety and quality standards.
In particular, this role will be working on end of financial year invoicing and preparation for the new maintenance programs in the next financial year.
The Assets Officer supports the Technical Officer with tenant consultation, administration, document management and contractor performance and compliance, and provide technical advice to the Customer Service and Housing Services Teams.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Support WHC provide exceptional customer service by actioning escalated responsive maintenance requests and undertaking consultation and communication with tenants and the Property and Housing Services teams.
- Process Maintenance Invoices
- Report on status of Work Orders, invoices and maintenance programs
- Support the delivery of quality homes to our tenants by providing support to the Technical Officer for the implementation of planned and cyclical works.
- Support WHC to maintain strong financial performance by managing the voids program and minimising vacancy times.
- Support the Technical Officer by administering contractor performance and compliance obligations and keeping accurate and timely records on contractors in the relevant systems.
- Assist the Property Services team meet its financial goals and targets by scrutinising contractor invoices and variations before approval to ensure they match work orders.
- Ensure that WHC meets its statutory and legislative obligations by maintaining strict adherence to WHS, the National Regulatory System and workplace policies and procedures.
***Essential Criteria**: To be successful in this role you will have:
- At least 2 years' experience in property maintenance and contractor management
- NSW Drivers licence
- Knowledge of Land and Housing Corporation's schedule of rates (desirable)
- Experience working with disadvantaged tenants
- Mandatory National Criminal History Check
- NSW Driver's Licence
